Administrative Assistant - The Bridge Church

Job Type: Part Time (28 hours per week)
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Reports to: Managing Director

Position Overview: We are seeking an outstanding candidate to assist The Bridge and its full-time staff with the management of administrative business.


Responsibilities:
  • Maintains accurate calendar and oversees scheduling for meetings and events
  • Provides phone and email support for the organization
  • Serves as primary contact for staff, vendors, and others regarding church administration
  • Maintains and organizes office spaces (supplies, furniture, layout, standards)
  • Carries out general administrative duties such as copying, filing, shipping, and ordering of supplies for staff and organization
  • Maintains and updates records in our database, prepares reports, and manages contacts
  • Attends key ministry and staff meetings; keeps and distributes minutes to stakeholders
  • Supports meetings and events by booking facilities, completing paperwork, and assisting organizers
  • Maintains volunteer lists and works with leadership to deploy volunteers
  • Designs, prints and prepares internal and external communications, including weekly bulletins, newsletters, invitations, and ministry materials
  • Maintains the kitchen inventory for Youth Group, staff, and ministry events
  • Provides administrative support to key programs and ministries, as requested


Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years in an administrative role, preferably within the non-profit realm
  • Self-starter with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively problem solve
  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, multitask, make decisions and change course of action quickly
  • Strong organizational and follow-thru skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor
  • Ability to work with confidential information and exercise good judgment and discretion
  • Experienced user of Word, Excel, Pages, Google Docs, Dropbox, web and social media


Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Job Outline: Children’s Intern

Job Type: Part Time (12 hours / week: 8 weekday office hours, 4 Sunday working hours)
Reports to: Children’s Director
Internship Length: Feb 2014 - June 2014

Position Overview: To lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by assisting the Children’s Director in preparing, planning, scheduling, and implementing our children’s programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Children’s Director on various projects, as requested
  • Schedule children’s ministry volunteers for weekly services
  • Manage and maintain Children’s ministry database (volunteers, parents, and children)
  • Upload lesson plans and ministry content to Planning Center (volunteer management software)
  • Schedule and order curriculum content for children’s services
  • Prepare media, videos, images, and songs for children’s services (iPod / ProPresenter)
  • Prepare printed materials for weekly children’s services
  • Order supplies and prepare weekly crafts and activities
  • Design and create forms and paperwork for ministry projects
  • Assist with Sunday service set up each week
  • Volunteer as a teacher in Sunday service twice a month
  • Attend adult Sunday service on the off-weeks

Basic Qualifications:
  • Self-starter with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively problem solve
